Yeah, that is the sort of thing that Kent ...Peter,

Yeah, that is the sort of thing that Kent and Ernie and his people try to use to deflect and evade their own problems.

FANAFI (Find A Need And Fill It)

You maybe have seen that on one or more of Kent's videos.

Alternatively, Kent has repeatedly promoted the principle of "find something to do and do it".

So, I have followed Kent's own advice.

Kent has whined about "lies in the textbook" for decades, as he recently explained, and he decided to start a dinopark in Pensacola rather than work to get on the school board and spend his time actually trying to change textbooks in his own school district or state.

So, your effort is quite understandable but it puts Kent, again, into the state of demonstrating his hypocrisy and, effectively, admitting he and Ernie are up to no good and telling people that, despite that, others have better things to do than call them to account for their bad acts.

Kent also has preached about that fellow with "one talent". He likes that, as is typical of preachers, until a "one talent" guy like me shows up to exercise my "talent".

Your approach also reminds me of a recent post by my oldest daughter. Perhaps you will find it to your liking. Here it is for what it's worth (it's in the context of the politicizing of the recent Florida school shooting):

(Begin quote.)

I know this is a controversial statement, but just consider it before responding. First, I have nothing negative about teenagers taking an active role in politics and being passionate and action-oriented about what they believe.

I think that's an outstanding instinct.

However...

Most if not all of the activism I have seen from students is directed outwards.

They are demanding legislation, security, etc., for adults to make changes that they believe will solve the violence problem in the schools.

Here is what I see as the fundamental flaw with that.

The students demanding change are the students who created the problem.

I have very visceral memories of school.

I just had two children progress through the public school system, and I often spent hours a day there just observing.

The social atmosphere in most schools is soul-killing.

Students are cruel, judgmental, hateful, casually dismissive, and selfish. The student-devour-student attitude is often silently reinforced by the adults who hope that social pressures will keep them from having to address student behaviors themselves, or who were themselves top dogs when they were in school, or who are simply oblivious to the reality.

These are not generalizations.

I have multiple, straightforward examples which I witnessed myself.

The most powerful thing students could do to end school violence is to stop creating a divisive, judgmental, lonely atmosphere of constant stress and fear for their classmates to walk into day after day.

And as parents, we should be modeling kind, empathetic perspectives and not making cruel or cutting comments about other children at home.

I do realize that this does not address the totality of the issues surrounding school violence, but until it's addressed, the rest will just be ineffective bandaids.

(End quote.)

RLBatyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14685581652348535601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4421006301341157258.post-61921596294017348222018-03-07T05:42:12.246-05:002018-03-07T05:42:12.246-05:00Ok, Bob, I'm going to pick up what I would see...Ok, Bob, I'm going to pick up what I would see as the Kent Ernie side of this argument. There are probably millions of things that people are doing right now that endanger children and hundreds if not thousands of things that people are doing that affect waterways. So why are you focused on these particular things that Kent Hovind might be doing rather than things that are closer to home. I would argue that it is because of the animosity you have towards Hovind. I think that comes from what you see as his false narrative about his IRS issues. That is something I share with you, but carrying that into those other issues is I think getting carried away. If you are really worried about parents allowing their kids to do reckless things, check out your local high school football team and there are probably plenty of environmental infractions in your own neck of the woods that you could observe first hand pretty easily (I know you visited Pearl Lane, but still it is a trek).

Regardless I admire your tenaciousness, even though I sometimes think it may be misapplied.Peter Reillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01473701483727808782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4421006301341157258.post-9984696937760585712018-03-06T22:18:51.423-05:002018-03-06T22:18:51.423-05:00I don't know who all Kent might have reference...I don't know who all Kent might have reference to regarding any complaints against his operations, but I know I have filed at least 2 such complaints and Kent, as he has historically, and his people, have falsely represented my efforts which did, I believe, affect a change in the way he was operating and, I believe, other complaints he cryptically mentions have had an impact and it really ticks him off.

My first complaint was when he was first starting his commercial construction project on the 145 acres and was soliciting parents to bring their minor children to work on the projects.

I merely suggested to the proper authorities that they may want to investigate. Apparently they did, forcing some changes to the way Kent was operating and trying to exploit parents and their children and put them at risk, but I don't suppose we will ever be able to document the details about that.

The other more recent complaint involved his un-permitted work on his "waterways". The Corps of Engineers sent me their report on that, and it appeared that some of Kent's meddling with the "waterways" involved violations, but they decided that, at the time, the problem was not continuing and they were not going to pursue the matter any further.

To some, it's a wonder that Kent Hovind has not had his Supervised Release revoked. He clearly seems to have had numerous violations of his rules. I doubt we'll ever hear the story about that matter unless the feds finally decide he has done something that warrants sending him back to Judge Rodgers to be locked up again. He's got a few months left. Maybe he will make it. Maybe not. He earlier claimed he was going to file for an early termination of his Supervised Release but never seems to have gone through with it. Maybe his probation officer convinced him that would not be a good idea. In recent days, his convicted co-conspirator, Paul John Hansen, filed for an early release from Supervised Release and that request was quickly denied by Judge Rodgers.RLBatyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14685581652348535601noreply@blogger.com
